An internal link is a link from a page of your site to another page of the same site.
A navigation menu is typically an internal link.

The number and the wording of those links have an influence on the ranking in search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

The more internal links a page has, the more important for search engines this page is compare to other pages with less internal links.

The wording of the link is crucial because it tells to search engines what the page is about.

Textual links are much more efficient than graphical links where only the « alt » attribute gives information to engines.

It is recommended to:

- use text to format the link (no graphical link)
